Today is a recap of what we’ve discovered throughout this revival time. In the first 20 days we took aim to set ourselves apart to seek God, devote time in prayer, poise ourselves to hear from Him, establish and walk out allegiance, and learn how to assess trials. Additionally, we considered our steps of faith, need for discipline, and how to strengthen our body, mind, and spirit for kingdom benefits. Then we looked at spiritual components including if we have spiritual eyes to see, ears to hear, a mind that understands, and a voice that speaks life. We also examined if our heart is apathetic and lukewarm or if we passionately stand firm for truth and justice. We considered if we have a God-conscience or selfish ambition. We discussed the helmet of salvation, breastplate of righteousness, shield of faith, belt of truth, feet fitted with readiness, and the sword of the Spirit as we reviewed God’s authority and protection provided in the spiritual armor.
In the second half of the 40 days’ journey, we did further inventory of our spiritual identity by assessing our strengths and weaknesses in the spiritual war. We studied about enemy and friendly fire, humility, obedience, discipline, self-control, experience, training, and mentoring. Additionally, we looked at our need to discern between good and evil. We talked about being willing to carry each other’s burdens. We learned that God hates evil and injustice, and that He has justified anger, jealousy and wrath. Also, we considered that spiritual-bootcamp trials are different than punishment. In our further study, we read Bible passages that confirmed that the devil, demons and evil spirits are real and have a spirit voice. We inventoried our God-given money, time, talents, and anointing. Finally, we made sure to record “memorial stones” to remind us of God’s supernatural provision in times of our greatest needs and challenges.
What day or part of this 40 days has been most endearing to you? What part has been the greatest challenge? We have not ignored the hard stuff! Have you identified anything new about your own identity? Have you discovered something new about God’s character? Are you more equipped than before for the spiritual battles?
