Apostle & Prophet

In my early morning quiet time with the Lord, He said that He is designating me as Apostle & Prophet. I have no idea what that means. I’m quite content being His prophet and I don’t need a title to know my worth.

When I asked the Lord if this new title was going to change my day to day walk with Him, He said that it would. That’s a little worrisome. I’m not sure that I want things to change. I hear God every day, all day long. I have experienced every miraculous gift of the Spirit. I have a good understanding of spiritual warfare. Why does there need to be a change?

Well, He is God. I guess He knows what He’s doing. 😉 If I start acting weirder than usual, it’s all because of this new title.

– Apostle & Prophet, Tammie Edwards

EDIT: I’m studying this a little and this is what I’m finding.

“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues ? Do all interpret? Now eagerly desire the greater gifts. And yet I will show you the most excellent way.” (1 Corinthians 12:27-31 NIV)

“In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets.” (Ephesians 3:4-5 NIV)

“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up” (Ephesians 4:11-12 NIV)

“Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.” (Ephesians 2:19-20 NIV)

“Because of this, God in his wisdom said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and others they will persecute.’” (Luke 11:49 NIV) …. (By the way, I don’t like the sound of that.)

“I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles.” (2 Peter 3:2 NIV)

“Rejoice over her, you heavens! Rejoice, you people of God! Rejoice, apostles and prophets! For God has judged her with the judgment she imposed on you.” (Revelation 18:20 NIV)
