Step 2: Covenant Restoration (Continued Part 3 of 3)

Repent/Renounce:
Ideally, you will use the covenant restoration conversation to gauge past wrong missteps that led you away from God. You should also learn from God how to avoid future temptations by seeking Him wholeheartedly. You’re going to need ask God questions, acknowledge your wrongdoing, and hear from Him how to do things differently going forward. Be ready to spend as much time as necessary to fully discuss every aspect of this with God. Don’t be in a hurry. Be intentional towards improvement.

It shouldn’t be necessary to say this next part, but having spent years in deliverance ministry, I know it is. When you are talking with God, who sovereignly holds your life and the lives of your loved ones in His power, please be polite. Words like ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ should be used along with your most sincere transparency. God is not obligated to restore your relationship, but He does consider Himself responsible to at least give you the chance to repent. Don’t waste it being insincere, crude, or flippant. If you believe that the reason for the disconnect with God is that you stopped trusting God when there was a loss in your life, you are allowed to discuss those hurts with God. Talk it over until it is resolved. Ultimately though, He is God, and you are not. He knows every purpose and the big picture when you don’t.

After repenting, if you still are not at peace with God or are not hearing Him as expected, then you will need to renounce false authorities or counterfeit gods. Remember, you can only have one God. Anyone or anything that you have bowed down to instead of God, will need to be removed from your sphere of influence. You will need to individually declare each as counterfeit and deny their place in your life. God will help you with this if you will ask Him to identify those occult practices, false religions, idols, and wrong counselors.

On the attached pages, I have provided sample questions for you to ask God. I recommend having note pages or a journal to write out anything that God identifies as problem areas so that you have a checklist of things to correct, change, or redirect. God will be watching to see just how willing you are to restore your relationship. Purposely refusing any direction or being careless with His warnings will not end with the result you were targeting. Be prepared and organized to be a reformed version of yourself.

Attached are two pages (of six) from The Rogue Prophet Magazine, “The Covenant Voice of God” (pages 35-36, dated August 2024) that provide specific questions for you to ask God so that you can hear directly from Him about right from wrong. Step 2: Covenant Restoration (Continued Part 2 of 3)

A Broken Covenant Oath:
If God really is your God, then you should seek Him for every decision. You must know that He is vastly more aware of everything that is going on that affects you, much more than you are. He wants to be consulted even down to the clothes you wear each day. Once you learn to discern His voice, it’s easy to have constant ongoing conversation with Him. If that seems too weird, well, lots of things you do outside of covenant are weirder. Listen, I’m definitely not saying that walking in-sync with the Lord is an easy life, but who has an easy life?

If you were at a military bootcamp, would you be expected to dress exactly as you were told? Would you need to obey those training you? Would you need to eat the food provided for you in the portions provided? Would you need to have intentional focus and expend all your energy in the training maneuvers? Ok, so I’m not saying that obeying the Lord Is constantly difficult to that level, because He is not a hard taskmaster. He does, however, expect to be consulted and obeyed. There are some things in your life that He will be strongly opposed to. He will help you walk away from those for your own good. There is a destiny calling on your life. Don’t you want to be exactly where God wants you to be? God can do things the easy way or the hard way based on your level of cooperation. There is much peace that comes from being exactly where you’re supposed to be at exactly the right time. Only God can give you that.

If you’re in covenant, you can easily follow the Lord through hearing His voice and allowing Him to lead. But if instead, you wrongly chose to obey a different authority as a counterfeit god for the decisions that belong to Him to oversee, you break covenant … and He is no longer your God. You then belong to the false god that you have chosen over Him. I’m not saying that you cannot obey your work supervisor/boss, parents, spouse, laws, or government authority. But if God is in conflict with their directions for you, then you must choose God’s will above theirs. God is expecting you to choose His will above your own and anyone else on the planet. Again, He is sovereignly more aware of your life’s purpose than you are. God wants first-place authority for your decisions.

If you have broken covenant, by choosing to obey a wrong authority (as your counterfeit god), you will want to have a forgiveness conversation with God to resolve the conflict. Without restoration, God will allow the enemy to have access to you. You have chosen the false god and will reap the consequences of your wrong choices. Let me be clear, it is you that abandons God first. So, He has every right to abandon you. Only if you’re in unbroken covenant, will you hear the Lord tell you that He is with you and will not leave you.

“Whoever belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.” (John 8:47 NIV)

Attached are two pages (of six) from The Rogue Prophet Magazine, “The Covenant Voice of God” (pages 33-34, dated August 2024) that further outline the covenant restoration process. The remaining two pages, “Repent & Renounce” will provide the benefit of my deliverance expertise by providing specific questions for you to ask God so that you can hear directly from Him about right from wrong.

Step 2: Covenant Restoration

The God of Justice
God is the supreme judge. Only He has the power to forgive sins. The shed blood of Jesus*, the cross, and the juice or crackers of the communion emblems do not have power to forgive sins. Only the sovereign will of God and His justice can forgive sins. You cannot avoid having a forgiveness conversation with God by pleading blood, taking Communion, or wearing cross jewelry or tattoos. And there is no automatic forgiveness clause in the covenant agreement. Sorry, but God’s plan doesn’t work that way. God has wrath towards rebellion and God has mercy for the blameless and repentant. God can overturn a jury’s guilty findings. God can send the criminal to prison.

If you are not in covenant relationship with God, you forfeit His provision and protection and are promised to receive His eternal wrath in hell. Though, if you have promised on oath for God to be your only God, but have broken that covenant through sin, you have access to God in prayer to have a forgiveness conversation. *The shed blood of Jesus on the cross provided for you to have covenant restoration conversation with God without a blood sacrifice or a priest to intercede. The Old covenant atonement protocols were no longer required because Jesus (God in flesh) was the final priest (in the priestly lineage) and the final blood sacrifice. It’s that way because God ordained it. You don’t get to change it. Sins are NOT automatically forgiven

The God of the Covenant
It’s important that you know who God is. God is not 1/3 of an authority. He is the sole authority over heaven and earth, life and death, eternal punishment and reward. Jesus is God. Jesus is not the Son of God. Before you go and get your Scriptures to quote to me about Jesus being the Son of God, you should realize that the Son of God title was for when God, who is an invisible Spirit, was walking visibly on earth in a flesh and blood biological Son of Man suit. That “Son of God” label was specifically to denote when God took on flesh. There is not a second Spirit of God sitting next to the first Spirit of God on a throne in heaven. Oh how I wish that more pastors understood this because they are using wrong terminology that denies that Jesus is God.

Previously on 1/9/25, I posted four information sheets on “The God of the Covenant” (link to blog post: https://therogueprophet.com/2025/01/09/church-assessments-1-9-25/). If you have any questions about who Jesus is, please study the Scriptures on these pages with God present. (Just ask God to silence the enemy and ask God to help you understand this.) Nobody wants to be responsible for blasphemy against God. Obviously, God looks at heart motives so He’s not going to cause the most severe punishment if your heart was right even if your theology was unintentionally wrong. But I guarantee this is one of the most important doctrines to get right. He might have let it go unpunished if He didn’t intentionally send His prophet with this instruction and warning. Now, you are out of excuses! Please, for your sake, study it until you are certain you know who Jesus is. (Hint: He is NOT 1/3 of a three-god godhead.)

The Covenant & Restoration (Part 1 of 3)
The covenant is central to hearing God’s voice of direction. Without the covenant and hearing God’s voice you can NOT be His disciple. You can, however, be a disciple of your pastor without being in covenant with God. You can be a disciple of worldly culture without being in covenant with God. You can study a Bible without being in covenant with God. But God requires good-standing covenant relationship and hearing His voice for true discipleship. (Making disciples means teaching people to have covenant relationship with God, not making them members of a church.)

Previously on 1/10/25, I posted information sheets on “The Covenant” (link to blog post: https://therogueprophet.com/2025/01/09/church-assessments-1-9-25/). Studying these pages for understanding will help you tremendously on Step 2, covenant-restoration conversations.
Attached are two pages (of six) from The Rogue Prophet Magazine, “The Covenant Voice of God” (pages 31-32, dated August 2024) that outline the covenant restoration process. The remaining four pages of the six will be posted on subsequent days. Pages 3-4, “A Broken Covenant Oath”, describe the false religions, occult practices, and counterfeit gods that break covenant; Pages 5-6, “Repent & Renounce” will provide the benefit of my deliverance expertise by providing specific questions for you to ask God so that you can hear directly from Him about right from wrong.

Restored Covenant?

Without fail, as part of my bedtime routine and early morning wakeup conversations with God, I ask Him a series of questions to gauge my position under His authority. One question is “Lord, is there anything that I need to ask forgiveness for?” His response is “You have done my will exactly.”

You might think that being exactly in His will would warrant great reward and no difficulties. The consistent rewards are: 1) I continue to hear God’s voice; 2) He makes His presence known; and 3) He chooses to protect me and my children from the devil’s activities against us.

My obedience, however, does not equate to an easy life. Most of the time, it feels like I am in a perpetual spiritual bootcamp being constantly trained, pushed to the limits of my capabilities, and purposely weakened and humbled. That probably doesn’t sound like favor, but it is growth. That growth is required for God to continue to trust me with the anointing of hearing His voice and the supernatural anointings of the manifestation of the Spirit of God. So don’t look at me or my physical surroundings to gauge my walk with God, and I will not judge your hard situations as punishment from God either. Although, if I hear God say that you’re being punished, well then, I’m not going to argue with Him or assist you outside of His will.

Prayer is the vehicle for conversation with God. Thankfully, we can silently pray anywhere at any time. We don’t need permission from anyone to seek God. However, to hear God speak to you in prayer, you need to be in unbroken covenant with Him. Covenant relationship simply means that you have chosen Him as your only God and choose to obey Him. Restoration of a broken covenant requires the forgiveness conversation discussed in paragraph 1 above. Again, hearing His voice doesn’t guarantee an easy life but it does position you to be exactly in His will when you obey His direction. There is one thing that I’m sure of … I would be completely lost without Him. Are you?
