The Missing Piece — The Covenant Oath

One day, about eight years ago, God awakened me in the early morning hours and told me to sit in front of my computer. He was going to give me the most important page of information to share. Mind you, I was already more than a decade into my walk with hearing God. How could there be something new that warranted such “urgent” focus?

Little did I know that it was the missing piece in every aspect of ministry. If I could describe the covenant oath adequately, it affected when/if a person would hear God. It gave understanding to God’s discipline and punishment. How could this have never been taught to me in 50 years of church attendance? God was right, it was the most important page. Understanding the covenant oath made all the other pieces of the puzzle fit perfectly in place.

So, of course, it had to be a topic for discussion with the local pastors. In April, 2021, I included it in the monthly “Mark of Excellence” doctrinal newsletters. The cover letter and four pages of the newsletter are attached here. The page with the throne image is similar to the page that God had me create on that morning in 2017. What do you think? Have the local pastors been more effective in communicating the importance of the covenant relationship?

(The four pages of the newsletter are posted as a slideshow. Toggle right/left to see all pages.)

Invested in Hearing God’s Voice?

Hearing God’s voice is imperative to being obedient. Taking a best-guess or interpreting Scripture at your choosing will likely cause you to walk completely outside of God’s will and path. God judges heart motives. He is aware of all methods used to avoid consulting Him. So just because you have a Bible open, it doesn’t replace your need to submit to God’s authority. You can’t fool God.

Attached are the March (2021) “Mark of Excellence Newsletter” and associated letter to the local pastors. The topic is “Hearing God”. In the last two days, we looked at the January letter with the main topic of 1) One God; and the February letter and topic of 2) False teachers. In reviewing these letters are you seeing God’s heart as He sends a message to the pastors and churches?

Digest this one carefully because the letters ahead get a little heated as we dive in to debate against the false doctrines and those who have chosen to teach falsely.

“Surely, God Didn’t Say…”

“Surely, God Didn’t Say…” Those are the words that the devil used to deceive Adam and Eve in the Garden. Those words led to them disobeying God.

If I had a nickel for every time that I heard the devil use those words through human vessels, I would be a very wealthy woman today. I refute their foolishness every time. Here’s the thing, Adam and Eve could have sought God when the devil used those deceptive words. They could have, right then and there, said “God, what did you say?” and called God into the midst of the confrontation. But they didn’t. Instead they allowed themselves to be walked right outside of fellowship with the Almighty and into a pit of sin.

Some people are more easily deceived. They walk themselves right into alcoholism, drug addiction, pornography, gossip, and living as their own “god”. Why would anyone who supposedly loves you not want you to seek God? Why would they want you to disobey Him? If they truly love you, wouldn’t they want you to submit yourself to God’s authority so that you can walk humbly with Him?

In the New Testament Scriptures we can see repeatedly that God used human vessels to send letters to the churches. The apostle Paul wrote letters to the churches in Rome, Corinth, Galatia, Ephesus, Philippi, Colossae, and Thessalonica. He also wrote letters to Timothy, Titus (for the church in Crete), and Philemon. There were other letters, too, written by other apostles and leaders to include Simon Peter, James, John, and Jude. All of those letters were inspired by God and included in the Scriptures. Additionally, John penned the seven letters to the churches (in Asia Minor) in Revelation. So, it’s not unlike God to want to send a message to the churches through human agents especially when the leadership of those churches refuse to seek God. They seem to be comfortable leading others astray with their false teaching.

Several years ago, God had me send letters to 24 churches locally. Please understand, it wasn’t that the other churches were correct in their doctrine. The printing, envelopes, postage and time were all coming from my small fixed income or He probably would have had me send them more far and wide. In the days ahead, we will revisit those letters to the churches to examine if there has been positive changes in the local churches during that time. Each letter contained a “Mark of Excellence” doctrinal newsletter to prompt them to study the doctrines more carefully. Listen, I don’t want them to believe me. I want them to truly have their own relationship with God where they ask Him questions until their garbage theologies are gone. That’s my hope!

I hope you will join me as we take a look at the false doctrines in the churches. Will you seek God and raise your voice against the false teaching or will you sit back and be comfortable in your country-club Christianity?

The Gullible One?

I’m sorry to be so blunt but you CANNOT interpret the Scriptures correctly without hearing the voice of God!

The devil is a liar. His whole scheme is deception. If you’re reading the Bible without God present, you are going to be deceived. When you study the Bible, you must do it while listening to God teach it to you. Ask questions to Him if anything is vague. The reason why there are so many misinterpretations and bogus doctrines is because they have left God out of their study.

Look at all the variations of religions that are out there. Some pray to statues. Some pray to Mary and saints. Some pray to themselves. Listen, Christians pray with God and hear His voice. At least, that’s the expectation. Without it you are lost!

I’ve spent the last 20 years offering to teach Christians to hear God’s voice in prayer. This is the anointing that God has placed on me. I’m not a singer. I’m not a musician. I’m not a historian. I’m a child of God trying to lead others to hear His voice so that they can refute the false doctrines in the churches. It’s not complicated.

We all want Christian community. We are want to be received and loved. But it seems that it becomes all about something else when we can’t agree on doctrine. Why can’t we agree on doctrine? Seriously, God is not going to give us different answers where doctrine is concerned. If we believe different doctrines it can only be because some aren’t submitting to God’s authority and teaching when they study doctrine. It’s frustrating especially when those that teach falsely claim to hear God’s voice. Really, how long does it take to ask a question to God like “Are there three Gods?” “Is the trinity doctrine correct?” “Is there a God sitting next to another God on thrones in Heaven?” It shouldn’t take weeks or months to ask a simple question if you really hear God’s voice. How long does it take to ask “God, do you want me to remove the word ‘trinity’ from the church website?”

I’ve been more than patient, but at some point you have to believe that “they” don’t want to address these issues with God. Their seat of honor is more important than being right with God. He sees it. He’s not naive or gullible. They can fool audiences that don’t know God, but they can’t fool God.

Native Language Tongues

If you have ever had the Lord speak through you in the gift of tongues, this will not be a foreign concept for you. Evidently, some of the pastors that I’ve been asking to seek God about the trinity doctrine, don’t know how to assess if they are hearing their own internal silent prayer voice, the spirit voice of the enemy, or the voice of God. So, God asked me to write about how they can be sure when God is the one answering their questions about doctrine.

There are two ways to be sure that you’re hearing from God.

1) Test the spirits. (1 John 4:1-3) I’m not going to elaborate on this method for today because I believe the second way is the most effective way for those who can yield themselves to the Holy Spirit. If you want to know more about testing the spirits, I am happy to answer questions.

2) Allow the Lord to speak aloud through your voice just as He does in speaking in tongues. God can speak in your native language just as He can speak in tongues of angels or foreign languages of men. The devil cannot speak through your voice only God can. I do recommend that you do this in a private space where you and God are alone. Below is my conversation with God asking Him the questions that I provided to dispute the trinity doctrines to give a glimpse into how He answers these questions. He spoke these answers aloud through me.

Me: “God, is there more than one God in the Christian religion?”

God: “No, child. I am the Lord, your God. There is no other.”

Me: “What is your name, God?”

God: “I am Jesus. My name is revealed through the Scriptures.”

Me: “God, what do you think of the trinity-of-Gods theology?”

God: “It is garbage theology that has been used to deceive many.”

Me: “Is Jesus a separate God from the Father?”

God: “Child, you don’t need to ask that question because you know Me.”

Me: “It was awkward asking it because it seems so foolish, but this is supposed to be a role-playing question and answer session. How would you answer one of the pastors asking that question?”

God: “I would answer it differently based on their level of understanding. This is where I would let them get to know me more intimately. Each of them comes from unique perspectives including areas of false doctrines that they have not yet overcome.”

Me: “The final question that I listed in my suggested questions is: ‘Is the Holy Spirit a separate Spirit from the Spirit of God?’ How would you answer that question?

God: “I am the Lord, there is no other.”

So, if those pastors are reading this, please allow the Lord to answer those same questions through your voice. Let Him speak aloud through you so that you know that it is not an enemy spirit voice speaking to you in the spiritual realm.

Whenever I have any doubt about what I’m hearing in prayer from God, I ask Him to speak through me so that I have all assurance that I know His will before moving forward. The enemy does not have the power to speak through you in tongues. It is a manifestation of the Spirit*. Also, remember that you can ask as many questions of God as is needed until you have peace and until you can speak with authority about those answers. Don’t come away from the conversation feeling vague. Keep asking questions until you are certain of the truth. God has all the time in the world to spend with you. Don’t rush the conversation.

*See manifestation of the Spirit gifts in 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; See also Mark 16:17; Acts 2:1-4; Acts 19:6; 1 Corinthians 13:1; 1 Corinthians 14:39.

To those same pastors, I will not publicly humiliate you if you privately contact me with questions on hearing God. You asking the questions shows a humility that God honors. It’s when you don’t bother to ask the necessary questions that I mock you and your false theologies. I can forgive being blocked on Facebook and your earlier refusals to respect me appropriately.

The Pharisees had “book” learning. In contrast, the disciples were able to learn at the feet of Jesus. Which are you: a Pharisee or a disciple? I want you to learn at the feet of Jesus which means hearing His voice. If I can assist you with learning to discern His voice, I want to do exactly that. I hope this post helps.

The Far Away God

Seriously, how content are you for God to be absent from your day-to-day activities? Don’t you really only want Him to be present when you intentionally invite Him in? Are you only inviting Him in when you need His power for healing, provision, or protection? If you can discern that about yourself, how obvious must it be to God?

Whenever someone asks me to pray for them, my first thought is that they’re supposed to have their own relationship with God. It’s not that I don’t want them to receive the prayer response that they’re hoping for, but I don’t advise God or give Him suggestions. That’s not the God that I serve. He is all knowing, and I am not.  He has more love, grace, and mercy than I could ever have. He has justice and power that is not afforded to me. So, what good would it do for me to go to God asking Him to do something that could be counter-productive to His plans?

I can love people without advising God. Whenever, someone asks me to pray for them, I do pray. My prayer is “God, is there anything that you want me to do for them?” Because I’m determined to be obedient to God, if He tells me to help the person, I’m going to do my best to walk out His plans. However, know this, God may be using their need as a way to draw them closer to Him. If they are usually content with God being far away, then their need may be intentional so that they learn to invite God in.

My life before learning to listen for God in prayer, was empty of God’s presence. In those days, I was a powerful prayer warrior who had lists upon lists of suggestions for God. That’s how the church taught me to pray. They put out prayer request lists and constantly asked if there was anyone that needed prayer. They did not teach me to listen for God in prayer. They ruined my prayer life by their example and instruction. They wasted 40 years of my life by causing me to counsel God in prayer rather than receive His counsel. They made my God a far away God that didn’t want to be part of my life except for when anyone, including myself, was in need. So, if that’s all God had to work with, He at least used it for a purpose. I learned to carry the burdens of others and to see hurting people in every level of society. We all need God. You must know, though, that kind of prayer life made me judge God rather than love Him.

These daily posts hopefully challenge you to seek God to know Him. I have repeatedly offered to help you learn to hear God’s voice in prayer. It’s life changing. It requires a new level of dedication. You know that the disciples of Jesus had to leave home, spouse, family and everything behind to follow Jesus. Do you have a disciple’s heart or one that would rather ignore God except in need? Because, listen, He can provide all the need-scenarios that you’re looking for and a joyless life without Him. Invite Him in or hold Him at a distance, the choice is yours.

Please contact me if you would like to be part of one of the upcoming local group Bible studies on “The Covenant Voice of God”. It’s part of my mission from God to teach others to hear His voice in prayer. I can be reached at TammieEdwards@therogueprophet.com.

HEARING GOD: Step 3: Seek God’s Faith Step

I started these new-year posts about learning to discern God’s voice specifically for the people at Crossroads Church who were doing a corporate fast for 21 days. I wanted to help them learn to seek God rather than the traditional prayer mechanism of providing God a checklist of expectations. God is not looking for a honey-do list. He’s God. We’re the ones who are supposed to be seeking Him for advice and counsel. But you won’t know to do that if you have only been taught to tell God versus listening to God in prayer. If these posts have accomplished nothing else, I hope they have planted seeds to cause God’s children to humbly seek Him. It has been my honor and privilege to accompany you on the journey.

In earlier posts, we have reviewed Step 1: Get Alone With God; and Step 2: Covenant Restoration. All that’s left is to seek direction.

Let’s Recap:
1) You must have pledged on oath for God to be your one and only God.
2) You must only have one God. God is His title. Jesus is His name.
3) You must be in good covenant standing with God. If you have sinned against Him then you must have a specific covenant restoration conversation. This process is also known as asking for forgiveness or to repent.
4) You must renounce (deny and refuse) all counterfeit gods.
5) All your spiritual authority/allegiance must be under God’s lordship. (We are spiritual beings who temporarily wear a flesh-and-blood, human-born frame until our spirit is assigned to heaven or hell at physical death.)

Attached (or at the link provided) are two pages from The Rogue Prophet Magazine, “The Covenant Voice of God” (pages 37-38, dated August 2024). These pages complete the three-step process that I use to help people position themselves to hear God. Remember that God is always looking at our heart motives and our willingness to obey Him. Page 38 is a list of sample questions to ask God. Also included is a one-page worksheet designed to help you organize the process of learning to hear God’s voice in prayer.

The only way that any of us can know God’s heart and true doctrine is to hear God’s voice of instruction. The churches today are a mess of false doctrines because pastors have not learned to seek God and hear from Him. They stand instead on denominational interpretations of Scriptures which are different for each denomination or faction of the churches. True interpretation of Scripture can only be found by studying at the feet of Jesus through hearing His voice in prayer. If only pastors understood that their seminary certificates are man-made and represent nothing to God when a pastor teaches falsely. All false religions have their own form of seminary that train their leaders bogus religion too. God expects you to seek Him and receive truth from Him. If you can’t do that, please step down from the pulpit.

Defacto Voices

If you want to learn about something, what’s your first go-to? Are you going to google it? Are you going to phone a friend? Where are you going to get your expert advice? What did we do before tech devices?

I enjoy listening to conservative politics with Tucker Carlson or Dan Bongino. They’re my two favorites for getting the scoop of what’s going on in our nation and abroad. However, neither of them is worthy of giving deep religious advice so don’t tune in to them for that. Speaking of politics, how do you safeguard your opinions about who you should vote for? Do you have an ultimate source for discerning right from wrong?

There is one guy that frequents the same fast-food breakfast place that I regularly go to that is exactly wrong on most every issue. I bought ear plugs to keep with me so that I could filter out overhearing his nonsense. He believes in climate change, voted for Biden/Harris, advocates for masks and experimental vaccines, etc. Also, at the same breakfast place, there are a few of the Q-anon followers who believe that Elvis is still alive, that the earth is flat, and that space aliens are real. Don’t get me started on snowbird Charlie, with all his twisted “Biblical” advice about women submitting to their husbands rather than to God. Why do they believe all that nonsense? Is it because they haven’t bothered to fact-check with the ultimate fact-checker?

How hard is it to seek God for counsel? You don’t even need a tech device. You don’t need to be at a particular place. You don’t have to wait for an exact time. In fact, as far as I can tell, just about anywhere and anytime seems to suit God just fine. It’s not rocket science. In fact, it is hard-wired into our spiritual DNA. But some how it seems to be avoided at all costs by the vast majority of people … except when they want God to be their genie in the magic bottle. Oh yes, they know how to give God all their wise advice. But seeking God is definitely not on their menu.

Attached are two pages from The Rogue Prophet Magazine, “The Covenant Voice of God” (pages 20-21, dated August 2024) that offer insight about hearing God. In the days ahead, I will bring a step-by-step description about how you can easily seek God. I will even provide some introductory questions to ask Him. It’s so simple but it’s not taught in churches. Why? Do the pastors want to be your ultimate source of guidance rather than point you to Truth?

Marked Territory

God knows how to make you cry out to Him. You can profess that He is unconditionally a merciful God with unlimited patience with you, but you are just making that up. Anyone who has read the Bible should know that God has wrath against rebellion. Teaching falsely is rebellion.

The church belongs to God, not to the pastor, nor the congregants. I don’t know whose names are on the physical documents or deeds, but I am certain that God is the head of the church. He has every right to demand that true doctrine is taught. Every person involved in the operation of the church (including putting money in an offering tray) is complicit with any false teaching. God can and WILL terrorize your church until you submit to His authority regarding teaching truth. He can make the most vulnerable sick. He can create little accidents. God can do the unfathomable if He chooses. He certainly can withhold mercy to get your attention. Every time that there is a funeral in your church family, you should be warned that God knows how to make you cry out to Him. But instead you deny His messengers, troll His prophets, and persecute His beloved. How’s that working for you?

In the Old Testament of the Bible, we can read about how the Israelites kept provoking God’s wrath with their false gods/idols. God would allow them to be taken into captivity and treated viciously by their enemies. They would cry out to God, and eventually He would send them a deliverer. Read the pages in the Bible from the book of Judges and see if you come to the same conclusion. In the modern day, I believe that God has sent Trump as a deliverer for our nation. But God is clearly making Himself known in acts of God that the ungodly deem as climate change. Even some Christians refuse to believe that God has sovereignty over the climate. God can protect one house while He allows fire to destroy everything around it. God can protect His beloved completely while hurricanes decimate surrounding areas. God sent plagues that killed thousands upon thousands exactly as He chose. (Read 2 Samuel 24:15-25.) God doesn’t need permission to make His authority known. In man-made fires or plagues, God still has sovereignty to protect His loved ones. If He doesn’t protect you, He chose not to. Sorry, that’s just the truth whether you believe it or not.

• “Repent at my rebuke! Then I will pour out my thoughts to you, I will make known to you my teachings. But since you refuse to listen when I call and no one pays attention when I stretch out my hand, since you disregard all my advice and do not accept my rebuke, I in turn will laugh when disaster strikes you; I will mock when calamity overtakes you—when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and trouble overwhelm you. Then they will call to me but I will not answer; they will look for me but will not find me, since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the LORD. Since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke, they will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes. For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm.” (Proverbs 1:23-33 NIV)

• “Whoever remains stiff-necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed—without remedy.” (Proverbs 29:1 NIV)

Attached are two pages about Heaven and Hell (from The Rogue Prophet Magazine, “The Top 10 False Teachings in the Churches”, June 2023, pages 22 and 23). Do you have the courage to study about God’s power to send people to hell or will you instead insist that God must always be merciful?

Church Assessments 1/11/25

Summary So Far:

Let’s look back on where we’ve been over the last two weeks before moving on. It helps to summarize the main strategic points. I always welcome questions but since I don’t regularly receive that kind of feedback, I try to anticipate the areas that might be more difficult to digest easily.

True Doctrine:
Repeatedly, I have expressed the need to hear God’s voice in prayer so that you can know true doctrine. All the churches locally teach contrary to each other on some areas of doctrine. For example: 1) Methodist, Church of God, Presbyterian, and some nondenominational churches teach that women are equal partners to men in leadership and ministry. Women can be ordained as preaching pastors in those denominations. But in the Baptist, Church of Christ/Christian, Pentecostal, Apostolic, and some nondenominational churches, women are considered to be subordinate to men in areas of leadership. Also, 2) Some denominations believe that the miraculous gifts of the Spirit such as healing, speaking in tongues and prophecy can no longer be delivered from the Holy Spirit to His people. (Evidently the Holy Spirit lost His power or permission somewhere along the way.) And finally, 3) Some churches believe that there is a corporation of three gods that make up a god-head while others correctly wholeheartedly love only one God and are in covenant relationship with Him.

If you don’t know where you stand on any of these issues, please go back and read the study pages and articles posted on the previous days. I will continue to build on these topics but having a firm foundation in the Scriptures will be helpful to you as we progress forward.

Discerning God’s Voice:
Knowing God and learning to hear His voice in prayer are crucial to being a true disciple. As discussed before: 1) You must be in unbroken/restored covenant relationship with God which means that you must have a sincere forgiveness conversation with Him asking for specific areas of mismanagement (sin) to be evaluated and restored. You must learn from your specific mistakes so that you can prevent repeat occurrences. The conversation should never be “I’m sorry for everything.” Sin and temptations should be intentionally discussed for improvement. 2) You can only have one God, not three. God is Spirit. When God’s Spirit made Himself known in a human-born, flesh and blood frame, He was fully God (as Spirit) and fully man (as flesh). The flesh part was crucified on a cross so that we no longer need a priest to intercede or a blood sacrifice for atonement. Instead God gave us access through the torn veil to approach Him alone in prayer to humble ourselves and ask for forgiveness for sin. That is how we restore covenant relationship. 3) We must seek God, not advise God. That will require a major prayer shift for most people who have grown up in the church and heard prayers modeled that inform or advise God. We must learn to shut up and listen to God rather than counsel Him about matters that He intimately knows better than we do. Who wants a God that needs our advice? I don’t. Sure we’re allowed to talk to Him about our concerns, but we’re not supposed to try to convince God that our ways are better than His.

Women in Ministry/Leadership:
Too many women seem to be content with being lazy or refusing to accept the anointing and giftedness from God. Yes, I blame some of the false doctrine on the women who sit back and accept it. 1) The Holy Spirit anoints men, women, and children for ministry. He looks for a yielded spirit, right covenant relationship, spiritual maturity, and courage to step out. There is no gender bias from the Holy Spirit. There is no age requirement. There is no seminary degree or college certificate required. An hour spent directly with the Lord is equivalent to about 10 hours of doctorate studies. To repeat, you do not need a secular degree if you are learning at the feet of Jesus. He is the one and only God. There is no authority higher. If He anoints you, He expects you to be bold in that anointing. 2) The Bible clearly records that there were women leaders throughout history that were anointed by God as prophets, judges (deliverers), apostles, deacons, teachers, etc. While the law of the Pharisees prohibited women from leadership, they were also the ones who refused Jesus and crucified Him on a cross. You don’t need permission from a Pharisee to be God’s anointed daughter. 3) Women, we have an advocate who will fight for us and with us against those who perpetuate the lies of the devil about our royal authority as daughters of the King. We must use our voice of truth to speak out against the demonic oppression being delivered through those who don’t know God or true doctrine. You cannot be lazy and indifferent. You must stand up as true Kingdom champions, not little princesses who sit silently by while the devil makes a mockery of your spiritual DNA and heritage.

Attached are two pages about “The Laws of the Pharisees” from The Rogue Prophet Magazine, “Spiritual Crimes Against Women in Ministry”, August 2023, pages 6-7. I hope you will study the Scriptures included on these study sheets and speak with God about them. As I always say … “Don’t believe me. Ask God Yourself!”
