“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” (Isaiah 5:20 NIV)
There seems to be great ignorance in the Christian community about how God feels about false doctrine. Nobody wants to expose it because it makes their pastor look bad. They don’t want to even discuss it because they don’t know how to go to God themselves and ask Him what is the truth. So, they defend the lie rather than expose it. They call what is evil good.
It doesn’t matter how many times that I challenge them to ask God themselves. They dig in and defend the lie and the false teacher rather than asking God in prayer. I can tell you with all certainty as one who God has ordained to expose false doctrine, that they will persecute the messenger long before they will expose the lie. They will side with the false teacher against God’s demand for truth.
God sees how they wrap His efforts in false narratives saying that His messenger is attacking the church rather than attacking the false doctrine or warning the false teacher. They gossip about God’s prophet exactly as the devil would want them to. They do anything they can to prop up the evildoer and to destroy the prophet.
But can you blame them in their ignorance? That’s one of those things that I have learned to leave up to God. God is the righteous judge. He knows what is evil and what is good. It’s a shame that they can’t bother to ask Him.
