Who Are You Accountable To?

Last night I listened to a local pastor’s message. It was a pretty good message but at one point he said something about doctrinal experts on the internet that aren’t accountable to a human agent should not be trusted. I’m guessing he was talking about me since he knows that I am a doctrinal expert that is not under the authority of a church.

So I talked to God about his comment.

1) First, God reminded me that I’m not asking anyone to trust me and that I always tell people to not believe me but to seek God themselves. Because here’s the thing, whether you understand it or not, you ARE accountable to God regardless of whether or not you have church elders. Let’s face it those church elders are going to back you up on your false doctrines if they have the same false doctrines as you do. Hint: if your pastor teaches falsely against women in ministry, then your stupid elders are going to keep you accountable to their false doctrinal standards. Why not be intentionally accountable to hearing God’s voice and obeying Him rather than be led astray by your bogus accountability partners?

2) I’m seriously asking you who was the Apostle Paul accountable to? Who was Abraham accountable to? Who was Noah accountable to? Who was Moses accountable to? Who was Samuel accountable to? Who was Elijah accountable to? Who were Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel accountable to? Who was King David accountable to? Who was Jonah accountable to? Who were the disciples accountable to? If God is good enough for them to be accountable to, then why would you suggest that He isn’t good enough for me to also be accountable to? Oh, is it because I’m a female? Or is it because I’m divorced? You nasty snake! Get behind me!

3) If you had an ounce of courage in your pathetic male ego, you would ask God yourself who I am accountable to. But you won’t bother to ask God because you can’t ask Him about anything including correct doctrine. You’re too busy advising God on how He should do things. Why don’t you learn to submit to God rather than to your good ole boy network?

“And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” (Acts 20:22-24 NIV)
